ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Having trouble figuring out how to get that carseat loaded right? Friday you will have a chance to get some help.
The Douglas County Child Safety Seat Coalition will be hosting a Child Safety Seat Check-up Clinic on Friday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
The event will be held in the Kmart parking lot.
Officials will be there to assist people with making sure their child safety seat is being used properly.
The Sheriff's office says motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 3 -14, due in large part to the non-use or improper use of child seats and seat belts.
There will be people available to offer parents and caregivers free inspections and training to help ensure that the child safety seats in their vehicles are the right size and have been properly installed.
This is a drive-up event and is open to the general public.
