Cat dies in apartment fire, no human injuries

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A family's cat perished in an apartment fire in Roseburg Thursday night.

Firefighters were called to an apartment ceomplex at 643 S.E. Flint St., after receiving a report of a structure fire just before midnight.

Fire crews found flames coming out of the upstairs window.

Firefighters knocked the fire down, which limited the damage and prevented the fire from spreading to other apartments.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but the cat owned by the family whose apartment was damaged was killed during the fire.

A fire investigator was called to the scene and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
