NORTH BEND, Ore. -- After suffering a medical emergency, a 17-year-old was rescued off of a fishing vessel by the US Coast Guard off the Oregon Coast.
The teen crew member aboard the Fishing Vessel Bess Chett reported suffering from chest pains and a loss of vision Monday evening while the vessel was near Cape Blanco State Park.
Crew members called the Coast Guard for help and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew responded to the scene after a flight surgeon recommended getting the teen off the boat immediately.
Coast Guard crews hoisted the male aboard the helicopter, where he was transferred to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay for treatment.
The teen's name and condition have not been released at this point.
The vessel is based out of Charleston.
