Cooling fans fuel flames as fire burns mobile home

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A woman and her two dogs escaped as a fire burned her mobile home Monday afternoon.

Numerous fans in the home helped fuel and spread the flames, firefighters said.

The resident reported smelling smoke and finding a fire in the bathroom and laundry area of her home in the Valley View Mobile Home Park around 3:23 p.m.

She fled with her pets.

Fire crews arrived on scene within 5 minutes and had the fire under control 13 minutes later, Douglas County Fire District No.2 said.

The home and its contents were a total loss, firefighters said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
