DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- The Umpqua Basin Watermaster says someone turned off the faucet in January.

The dry spell has been especially hard on the South Umpqua River.

Watermaster Dave Williams told KPIC News that water levels are continuing to drop in the South Umpqua. "Over a period of a month, we've lost two and a half feet of elevation in the river," he said. "That's quite a little bit of stream flow to say the least."

Williams says there may be water regulations in Douglas County if the levels continue to drop.
