CRESWELL, Ore. -- The 22nd annual Fourth of July parade hit the streets of Creswell at around 11 Wednesday morning. The Fourth of July festivities brought thousands out to one of the largest Fourth of July parades in the state.

The parade is a draw for people all over Oregon, Washington Idaho and California. The parade set a record attendance last year, and parade organizers expect similar numbers from the 2012 turnout.

The family-friendly event had plenty of fun for everyone, including candy, music, food and floats. Even with all the fanfare, patriotism was center-stage.

"It's my favorite holiday, I love the red, white and blue." said parade-goer Therese Reddy. "Actually, I wear red, white and blue every day."

It also gave many a chance to pay respect to their country.

"This is a celebration of what it means to be an American, you know?" Springfield's Melissa Cole said.  "I've just appreciated all of the things that people have gone through and taught us."
