Douglas County women arrested, charged with fraud

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Two women were arrested by US Marshals and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday.

The US Marshal's Office in Eugene confirmed that they arrested Lisa Marie Cobb, 50, of Winston, and Dana Mechele Garren, 43, of Riddle.

Garren has charges of first and second degree theft and filing a false health claim for payment.

Cobb has been lodged on the same charges, as well as unlawfully obtaining or using food stamps.

It is not known at this time if the two cases are related.

The US Marshal's office didn't give any more details of the investigation, but the case has been handed to a Special Deputy District Attorney in Portland who works in the Medicaid Fraud Unit.
