Douglas Inn manager, two others arrested in meth bust

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team has arrested the manager of the Douglas Inn in downtown Roseburg, along with two others on various drug charges.
The arrests were made Wednesday afternoon, as a result of an investigation which included the controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Michelle Sullivan, 49, who officials say is the manager of the Douglas Inn.
DINT officials say that Sullivan had picked up the meth from George Humphry, 51, who they say was staying in Room 150. Detectives say after selling them the meth, she returned with the money to his room.
Humphry was contacted by detectives and the money used in the drug buy was recovered from him.
A search of his motel room found an additional small amount of meth and packaging material.
Theresa Webb, 33, and her 14-year-old daughter were also found inside Humphry's room. Authorities arrested Webb for Probation Violation and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
DINT then contacted Michelle Sullivan and say they conducted a search of her apartment, which is connected to the motel office.
Authorities say a meth pipe was located in her bathroom.
All three were lodged at Douglas County Corrections.
Both Sullivan and Humphry were charged by DINT with possession and distribution of meth.
This is the same motel where DINT investigated an explosion caused by a hashish extraction process in July.
ok i belive there are two sides to every story. I happen to know the owner of the Douglas Inn personaly. What most people don't know is that he not only ownes the Douglass Inn but also Ownes one of Roseburgs Best hotels too and i have been a employee there for some time now, he is the best boss i've ever had, he likes to give people a chance and if he can help someone he does. I think all the people that have no idea what the hell there talking about should shut thier mouths untill they know the whole story.Everyone is so quick to blame the owner when he can not be there 24_7 he hired a manager to do a job, and ok mabey that wasnt the best choice of person to run the place, nobody is perfect. l know for a fact that he doing his very best to rid the place of the stuiped tweekers, so one by one they are gone from the douglas inn, and on the streets of Roseburg here they come so lock your cars people.
I have been an employee at this motel so please don't blame the owner, there are lot's of "wool" pullers there!! He is not familiar with our "underworld" as he is from a different culture!!!
The owner chooses to turn away from what is going on at his hotel. He has been told about the drugs, prostitution and other illegal activities but 'does not believe it'. Many of the people staying there work for him in return for their rent, beer or under the table for less than minimum wage. He doesn't care because he is making money from the property.
no name you are dumb and need to shut your mouth, show me the proof of your comments....
Cleaning up the town wouldn't do much good. (The Douglas Inn looks good at a glance)Â
It's the people who live there that is the problem.
Â
(I believe the meth folks in Douglas County are also into human trafficking)
Â
Not just degenerate, but often evil people.
What scares me about this area is many of the sucessfuf people here have the same underlying attitudes as do the lowest (or homeless)Â people.
(Not all homeless have a bad attitude-but it seems a lot do)
Â
It's like a social ponzie scheme of backstabbing, lying, thieving and corruption. The thread runs from the "down and out" right up the social ladder into the sucessfuf class.
good point i agree with you there...
So, it has taken a month for someone to be arrested! Tha twhole area downtown needs to be leveled and cleaned out. Who needs this kind of derelict business as a greeting for people coming into Roseburg...for that matter get rid of the car dealership and that shabby Chi's mess. How about cleaning up the downtown area in general, instead of a crumbling beacon for druggies, homeless and losers. Where's the city pride?
This is completely outrageous! This place is continually in the news for drugs and fights (in which one person was killed). Why is this place not being shut down! Does the owner not care enough about his business to keep these sort of people away? Or is he just getting a kick back for all the drug activity? Just a thought.Â
@RunGirl The owner stated he was forced to deal with these types of folks because his hotel was so far away from the freeway.  I don't have access to his books, but it doesn't take a leap in thought to think he probably doesn't get a lot of business other than the riff raff.
I personally don't buy that excuse. The hotel is hardly "far from the freeway". It's a short and actually somewhat scenic drive over a bridge. Not only that, it is the only motel in the downtown area, a fact which could be exploited to his AND the community's benefit. As it is, although this motel would be a convenient location for us to suggest to out of town guests, we would NEVER let anyone we know stay there. The owner has done an excellent job in marketing his business to the riff raff. Perhaps now (because of the murder and the explosion) his insurance will increase to make this less profitable. We could be so lucky.
Seriously, is this a surprise to anyone? This place is an embarrassment. Here's hoping some close and very public police supervision continues.Â
When you're so far away from the freeway, you're forced to hire meth heads too I guess.
There is hope for the 14 year old. The rest are toast.
