ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Douglas County Fairgrounds pavilion was built 60 years ago, and is showing iys age.

Now, officials say you can be a part of the iconic building.

The Pavilion Renovation Committee has raised $1.2 million to fix the exterior, and now they're trying to raise funds for the interior.

On Wednesday, the Lilja Family Fund and Umpqua Bank presented their donations to the group, kicking off the new campaign.

Sam Lee, the chairman of the committee, says people who donate towards construction of the new building will be recognized. "Everybody that donates will have the opportunity to donate at whatever level they're comfortable with, 50, 100, 200 hundred dollars," he said. "With that, they will receive a plaque that will be put up inside the pavilion."

The newly renovated pavilion is expected to be unveiled at the Douglas County Fair this summer.
