MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A Tri City area man went missing early Monday morning, and according to his family he was found deceased Monday evening.
According to his granddaughter, Vernie Young, 78, left his home on Irving Drive at about 3:30 am.
The Douglas County Sheriff's office says that at about 6:30 pm, they were advised that Young's vehicle had been located in the 10000 block of Hubbard Creek Road in Umpqua.
Sheriff's deputies, Fire District 2 and BLM responded and located the man.
Young's body was found not far from his vehicle lying in Hubbard Creek.
