CANYONVILLE, Ore. -- The 19th annual Festival of Trees kicked off Wednesday at the Seven Feathers convention center.
The Silver Bell Luncheon was the start of the four day festival.
This fundraising event is put on by the Mercy Foundation, and helps raise money for children here in the community.
It features over a dozen uniquely decorated trees donated by local businesses.
Event organizers hope to raise money for the children's health care fund through the bidding on these ornate trees and revenue from their silent auction. Lorraine Fox, a member of the Mercy Foundation, told KPIC News that all of the money stays local. "We raise money for Douglas County kids," she said. "All the dollars that are raised in this event will stay right here in the community."
The Festival of Trees has already raised over $1 million to date.
The event is open to the public for Family Day on Saturday.
