Firefighters raise money for MDA

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Roseburg firefighters were out in force Friday raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The firefighters have been doing this event for the past 15 years.

Shane Holt, the executive director of MDA for central and western Oregon, said this is a big-time event.

"Every year they do close to $10,000 here, rather the Roseburg community does," Holt said. "They're very giving people, so we look forward to doing it many years to come."

Holt said the money being raised is already being used to help Roseburg-area kids with clinics and summer camps all over Oregon.
