ROSEBURG, Ore. -- More than 600 people turned out for the Roseburg Chamber of Commerce First Citizens Banquet Thursday night.

The prestigous honor of female and male first citizens were awarded to two long-time community leaders, Sanna Hern and Dr. Scott Hendy.

Roseburg's Future First Citizen and a $10,000 scholarship was awarded to Roseburg High senior, Chelsey Luiz. "Having the ability to earn a scholarship like this through their generosity, is huge to me, it means the world," she said.

Community business leaders wrapped up the evening with an optimistic outlook for 2014 and their goals for helping to grow the economy.
