Gov. Kitzhaber calls for special session, reason unclear so far

SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Gov. John Kitzhaber says he's calling the Oregon Legislature into session next week.
He has scheduled a news conference late Monday morning to discuss his plans for a special session.
The Legislature is due to meet in its regular annual session beginning Jan. 14.
Kitzhaber said in a brief statement the special session will convene next Monday.
Spokesman Tim Raphael wouldn't go beyond that, refusing to say what Kitzhaber wants lawmakers to deal with.
