Hit-and-run driver took out cable box, fencing along Hwy 42

TENMILE, Ore. - An unidentified driver hit a fiber optic cable box and damaged 50 feet of fence in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning on Highway 42 west of Tenmile.

According to Senior Trooper Robert Gorman, an unknown vehicle, possibly a pickup pulling a trailer, was eastbound on Highway 42 near Benedict Road around 7:15 a.m. when it traveled off the eastbound shoulder of the highway.

The vehicle struck a highway marker, then drove across both lanes of travel to the westbound shoulder where it struck a Century Link fiber optic cable box and damaged over 50 feet of fencing.

The left mirror broke off the vehicle.
