Inmates try to sue booze makers for a billion dollars

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Five inmates at the Idaho State Correctional Institution south of Boise are suing a handful of major beer and wine companies, contending that alcohol led to their crimes and that they should have been warned that the beverages can be addictive.
The Idaho Statesman reports Keith Allen Brown, Steven J. Thompson, Woodrow J. Grant, Cory A. Baugh and Jeremy J. Brown filed the lawsuit in Boise's U.S. District Court last month.
The inmates say Miller Brewing Company, Anheuser-Busch, E. and J. Gallo Winery and other alcohol companies should put warning labels on their products to inform consumers that they are habit forming and addictive, and they're asking for $1 billion in damages.
They don't have an attorney, and the beer and wine companies have not responded to the lawsuit.

Wow, way to take responsibility for your actions, people. It must ALWAYS be someone else's fault. I think we should put warning labels on people that say "Warning: Idiot".Â
@OrGirl1212 Typical of our society. Of course nobody is responsible for their own actions. Heck, they even label addiction as a disease which gives the losers another good excuse to play the victim card. They whine it isn't their fault, they have a disease. BS!!! It is a choice every time you take a drink, puff, or stick a needle in your arm. This is coming from a smoker of 18 years so I know a thing or two about addictions and trying to quiet. Still, it is my CHOICE every time I light up!
