K-9 assists in finding 14 pounds of marijuana
MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A Roseburg police K-9 was able to help police find 14 pounds of pot at a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police say a Myrtle Creek police officer stopped a 2005 Subaru wagon for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 near milepost 108 northbound, at about 1:20 p.m.
Officers identified the two men in the car as Austin Joseph Glenn, 21, of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Kyle Fransden French, 23, of Bellevue, Washington.
Dora, the Roseburg Police Department's drug sniffing dog responded to the scene and authorities say the K-9 alerted on the car.
Police say they then found about 14 pounds of marijuana during the investigation.
Police seized the vehicle and took both men into custody on charges of unlawful possession and distribution of marijuana.
