KBVR: Oregon State radio station named nation's best
“We actually took home a total of 9 trophies. We won 5 catagories and were nominated for a total of 8 catagories,” said Matt Walton, the station's promotions director.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System named KBVR at Oregon State the Best College Radio Station at a University with more than 10,000 students.

They were the only West Coast station nominated.

KBVR also brought home awards for:

  • Best Play-By-Play Football Broadcast: Matt Walton and Josh Worden.
  • Most Innovative Radio Program: Joey Hulbert and Zhian Kmvar (Inspiration Dissemination)
  • Best Production Director: Megan Cummings
  • Best Promotions Director: Matt Walton

The winners were announced at the 74th Annual IBS New York City Conference. KBVR Station Manager Jodie Davaz, Promotions Director Matt Walton and broadcasting advisor Bill Gross all attended the conference.

KBVR was also a finalist for best overall station for schools of all sizes.

The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System is an educational association comprising more than a 1,000 high school and college broadcast stations.
