ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The girls from K.C.D. Dance Studio brought in lots of business for the annual Relay for Life car wash this Saturday.
They could be heard yelling "Car Wash" from the sidewalk in front of Abby's Pizza on Diamond Lake all day Saturday, and their efforts paid off.
With a team of five or six people, these hard workers had each car in and out of the wash in about 5 minutes.
The annual event is put on by KPIC and KCD Dance Studio, and this year almost $700 was raised in the car wash alone, more than double what was brought in the previous year.
K.C.D. dancers Nekiah Moline and Rebecca Taggart told KPIC News why they were willing to work so hard for Relay. Moline said, "To get more money, so we can help find the cure."
"Our dance studio teacher survived cancer, so it's a good thing," Taggart said. "We're helping her out, and helping her brother out."
But the car wash wasn't all work and no fun.
There was some great music playing early in the afternoon and two live bands later in the evening, featuring Hemlock Lane and Flashbak.
There was also a classic car show across the street at the Color Craft parking lot, which brought in more donations for Relay.
The annual overnight fight against cancer is July 27-28 at the UCC track.
