ROSEBURG, Ore. - A lightning storm resulted in five new wildfires on the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest.

Four of the new fires are west of Lemolo Reservoir and the fifth west of Diamond Lake. Fire crews were responding Tuesday to investigate.

The USDA Forest Service encourages motorists driving on forest roads in the area to drive defensively due to increased firefighting traffic.
