Local VFW looking for help in project

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- You may have driven by VFW post 2468 in Roseburg and noticed the trench work, or all of the dirt and rocks piled up.
Officials aren't just reorganizing the parking lot though, they're turning it into a veteran memorial.
The plans include waterfalls, ponds, benches and a wall with the names of veterans who have passed on.
Organizers say that they're excited for the project, but are afraid it could take a while.
So far, most of the work has been done by a small handful of people, and they say they need help. Michael Eakin, the Post Commander, told KPIC News that they will gladly except the help. "We got a few volunteers there, but we'd like to get some more," he said. "It's getting tough on this old man, it really is."
Eakin says that they need people with any type of electrical or plumbing knowledge, but they're also looking for anyone willing to come out and help.
If you're interested, you can swing by the post on Walnut Street Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
