CORVALLIS, Ore. - A man faces accusations he raped his half-sister 5 minutes after sheriff's deputies stopped by a rural home northeast of Corvallis on Thursday to check on the woman.

Deputies arrested Timothy Wayne Maine, 46, on Friday morning on felony charges of rape, incest, sodomy, sex abuse and coercion.

According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, deputies visited a NE Garden Avenue home Thursday evening at 5 for a welfare check. There, deputies spoke with a woman and Maine, her half-brother.

Deputies said the woman did not appear to have physical injury, nor did she say she was in need of help from the deputies. The deputies left the residence.

At about 11:45 p.m., deputies again spoke to the woman, this time at Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis where she had gone to seek medical treatment for a sexual assault, the sheriff's office said.

The woman said she had been sexually assaulted by Maine on numerous occasions - including minutes after deputies left the house.

"Maine held me hostage and wouldn't let me leave his room," the sheriff's office quoted the woman as saying. "Maine waited about five minutes after the deputy left and then he made me have sex with him again. Maine held me in his room and would not let me leave."

Deputies arrested Maine on Friday morning during a traffic stop.
