COQUILLE, Ore. -- A Bandon man accused of sexually abusing a young girl was back in court at the Coos County Courthouse on Monday.
Stephen Perkins appeared with his two attorneys before a judge Monday to determine what evidence can and cannot be used against him in an upcoming trial.
One of the things the court will have to decide, is if a statement Perkins allegedly made shortly after being arrested could be considered a partial confession.
Complicating the trial, set for late February, is that the victim is involved in another case where she was allegedly a victim of sexual abuse.
A competency hearing on whether or not the young girl will actually have to testify will take place just a few days before the trial date.
Perkins was arrested and charged by police with sex abuse, sodomy and luring a minor in October of 2012.
