Man arrested with over $1,000 worth of stolen goods
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- When a Roseburg police officer made a traffic stop for a minor violation Thursday night, he allegedly found stolen property from several local stores.
An officer pulled over a Chevy pickup on the corner of Floed and Pine Streets at around 9:30 p.m. for a minor traffic violation.
After investigating, the officer found over $1,000 worth of stolen property from Fred Meyer, Lowes, Staples and Sears in the back seat of the truck.
Police say they also found a stolen chainsaw out of Coos County in the bed of the vehicle.
Police arrested Tito Noriega, 38, of Myrtle Point, Ore., and lodged him in the Douglas County Jail on first degree theft for the possession of the chainsaw.
Police are trying to identify where all of the property came from, the values and victims, and they expect more charges when the investigation is complete.
