Missing man found dead on logging road
LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- A missing Seattle man last seen in Rice Hill has been found dead.
According to Detective David Ogard of the Seattle Police Department, Sherman Davis, 79, was found deceased on a logging road in southern Lane County near the Cottage Grove area.
Davis was last seen in Rice Hill on September 25 at the K and R Drive In.
Detective Ogard said that it appears Davis died from exposure to the elements.
Davis suffered from dementia and left his independent living facility two weeks ago.
His body was found on Friday.
Condolences to his family. A tragic story, but at least there is closure. Hopefully better steps can be taken to help keep our loved ones suffering with dementia or Alzheimer's safe when they are confused to their surroundings.
