TENMILE, Ore. -- Clayton Randolph Pankey, 47, of Roseburg, was reported missing back in March of 2009. His remains were found Monday on a ranch in the Tenmile area.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says that a rancher in the 2500 block of Sibold Canyon Road, reported finding clothing and identification for Pankey on Monday.

A search of the ranch commenced by the Sheriff's office, with the help of the county medical examiner's office, search and rescue, the Roseburg Police Department and Oregon State Police.

Officials say human skeletal remains believed to be those of Pankey were found in the area.

The remains and clothing were sent to the Oregon State Police forensic lab in Portland, where they were are undergoing test for a positive identification.

The investigation is ongoing, and no more information is being released by the Sheriff's office at this time.

Pankey, also known as Clayton Hunter, was last seen at the Shell gas station in Sutherlin on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at about 2:00 p.m.

His 1999 Chrysler van was found abandoned the next day in the 500 block of Buzz Mountain Road in the Lookingglass area.

His family reported him missing Friday, March 20.

Pankey's next of kin was notified.
