Missing man's trail runs cold

COOS BAY, Ore. - The trail of

a McMinnville man missing since last week

dead ends a day before he was reported missing, the Coos County Sheriff's Office said.

Family members reported Zachary Porter, 25, missing on July 25 when he did not return home to McMinnville from the southern Oregon Coast. He made the trip July 23 to sell a motorcycle.

Investigators managed to track Porter's whereabouts to somewhere between the Highway 101 junction with Highway 42 Junction and the intersection with North Bank Lane on Hwy 42, which is about 5 miles north of Coquille.  

That was the late afternoon of Wednesday, July 24.

His trail ends there, the sheriff's office said.

The Coos County Sheriff’s Office stills wants the public’s assistance in this case and asks anyone who may have information concerning Porter’s whereabouts to call (541) 396-2106.
