WINCHESTER, Ore. -- The construction continues at exit 129.
A little over two weeks ago, crews demolished the old Del Rio bridge at exit 129.
When they did that, officials also closed the southbound off-ramp.
Starting Thursday night, the southbound on-ramp will be off-limits as well.
The closure is expected to last about three weeks. The exit is expected to open again at the end of August, but officials say people can expect lane closures and delays until the project is complete, sometime in September.
Dan Latham of ODOT says that people need to be aware in that area, as well as anywhere else there is construction. "It's summer, people are often in a hurry, but there's a lot of construction out there so we encourage people to slow down, drive with caution, give yourself a little extra travel time to get to where you're going," he said.
There is a detour available while the exits and bridge are closed. Latham says that drivers can take Wilbur Road to Del Rio Road.
