Myrtle Creek teen, great-grandfather killed in early morning fire

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A Myrtle Creek teen and his 95-year-old great-grandfather died in an early morning house fire Friday morning.

At around 4:30 am, the 911 center received a report of a structure fire at 194 Old County Lane, which is about 7 miles east of Myrtle Creek.

When fire crews arrived, they found a double wide mobile home fully involved in flames.

The homeowners, Larry and Naomi Brubaker, made it out of the home and were transported to Mercy Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

Two other residents, 14-year-old Spencer Brubaker and his 95-year-old great-grandfather Pitchlynn Harris, died in the fire.

As of Friday morning, Larry and Naomi Brubaker were listed in good condition at Mercy Medical Center.

Investigators are still at the scene, but authorities say the fire does not appear to be suspicious or criminal in nature.
