DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police arrested an Idaho man south of Canyonville Wednesday morning, after they say an investigation during a traffic stop led to the discovery of around 10 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
On Wednesday at around 9:30 a.m., an OSP trooper stopped a 1989 Dodge Caravan displaying Idaho license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 90 for a traffic violation.
The trooper contacted the lone occupant, identified as Robert J. Nuszkiewicz, 50, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Troopers say that with the assistance of an OSP drug detection canine, an investigation led to the discovery of approximately 10 pounds of marijuana in the van.
OSP says the estimated value of the seized marijuana is $25,000.
Nuszkiewicz was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Jail.
OSP says that after being booked on unlawful possession and delivery charges, he was cited to appear at a later date in Douglas County Circuit Court.
The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.
