ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested Monday afternoon, after police say an investigation found the man had allegedly been in possession of child pornography.
Roseburg detectives say they began an investigation in December of 2011 that focused on the transfer of digital images depicting children involved in sexual activity.
Police say the suspect in that investigation was Kenneth Lee Shepherd, 43, of Roseburg.
RPD detectives served a search warrant at the man's home on August 10, 2012, and seized several computers, along with other evidence.
On Monday, Shepherd was taken into custody at his residence without incident, and he was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on 26 counts of First Degree Encouraging Child Sex Abuse.
His bail was set at $2,860,000.
Roseburg police officials say they actively investigate child pornography cases, and say that Rio Networks of Roseburg provides technical assistance and specialty equipment used.
