UPDATE: Winston police are not releasing the boys name at this point.

As of 9:00 am Friday morning, police say he is still in critical condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

WINSTON, Ore. -- A pedestrian was struck by a car on Hwy 42 near the green bridge in Winston Thursday afternoon.

Medical crews and police were called the scene, where an unidentified subject was struck by a vehicle.

Winston police say a 16-year-old boy darted out into traffic, when he was struck by a passenger car being driven by James Snyder, 76, of Winston.

According to police the impact knocked the boy out of his shoes.

Medical crews responded and took the boy to Mercy, where he was later transferred to Sacred Heart at RiverBend for treatment of serious injuries.

Police say Police say Snyder was not injured.

The boy's identity is not being released at this point, but police say he was not a Winston School District student.
