Police: Fugitive nabbed with 5 lbs of pot

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Police captured a wanted in Oregon and California after finding 5 pounds of marijuana in his car on Interstate 5 near Roseburg early Tuesday morning, Oregon State Police said.

A trooper stopped Leonard M. Wilson, 37, of Newberg at 1 a.m. in his 1987 Chevrolet S10.

The trooper found the marijuana, valued at $13,000, and determined Wilson had warrants out for his arrest.

Police arrested Wilson as a Fugitive from Justice because he was wanted on a felony Fail to Appear warrant out of Shasta County, California. Wilson was also arrested on two Fail to Appear warrants from Yamhill County, Oregon.

He was cited to appear in Douglas County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.

Since his arrest, Wilson has been transferred to the custody of Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office.
