Police: Man breaks into motorhome, K-9 gets him out

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A man who police say broke into a motor home and refused to come out was arrested after a police K-9 bit him.

At around 7:50 PM Thursday, police say they were called to the fenced lot at Mr. King's Auto Body in the 1400 block of SE Stephens.

Authorities say Christopher Thomas Kelsey, 20, a Roseburg area transient, had jumped the fence of the compound and broke into a motor home.

He destroyed the inside of the RV, as well as try to start it an attempt to drive away, police said.

Officials say Kelsey refused to come out of the motor home, so police sent K-9 Helix in.

Police say Kelsey was captured after the dog bit him.

Kelsey was taken to the Douglas County Jail and lodged on charges of first degree burglary and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, among other charges.
