Police: Man drives drunk to City Hall to report fight
CANYONVILLE, Ore. -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says a Canyonville man got into a fight with a female, then allegedly drove drunk to city hall to report it.
Police say Hiram Richard Taylor, 52, of Canyonville, got into a physical fight with a 41-year-old woman at a residence on Tiller Trail Highway on Wednesday just after 4:00 p.m.
Sheriff's deputies say he called 911 to report it.
Police say that a few minutes later, Douglas County 911 center got a call about a car that had drove up on the sidewalk at Canyonville City Hall.
Employees said that Taylor ran inside and asked them to call 911, and they told police he was visibly intoxicated.
When deputies arrived, they interviewed and arrested Taylor for DUII.
A deputy went to the residence to check on the female, and after interviewing her, added a charge of strangulation.
Taylor is being held on $15,000 bail.
