Police: Roseburg man arrested on sex abuse charge

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg police have arrested a man on an alleged sex abuse charge, after an investigation.

According to Sgt. Aaron Dunbar, police began an investigation in mid-March, after an incident was reported to police involving contact between Aaron Alexander Gaskey, 38, of Roseburg, and a 17-year-old female.

Police say that Gaskey and the victim are known to each other.

Roseburg officers say Gaskey came into the Roseburg Police Department for an interview on Sunday morning, and he was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Jail.

He is being charged by police with sex abuse in the third degree.
