WINSTON, Ore. -- A man carrying methamphetamine was brought down with a stun gun Friday night after he ran from state troopers during a traffic stop, police officials said.
Police said the incident started at around 5 p.m. when a trooper recognized that Samson Jones, 41 of Dillard was driving on Highway 99 that had a suspended license.
The trooper pulled Jones over just south of Winston. Officials said that after he stopped alongside Hwy 99, Jones jumped out of his car after and started to run from the trooper.
The trooper used a Taser stun gun to stop jones, state officials said.
Police said they found 11 bags of methamphetamine when troopers searched Jones. He was booked at the Douglas County jail for a parole violation, driving on a suspended license, attempt to elude police and possession of methamphetamine.
