ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg police officer now has a broken nose, after a woman allegedly crashed her car into a house and then punched him in the face.

Police say Candice Nacole Cameron Surwillo, 27, crashed into a duplex on Lincoln Street in Roseburg Tuesday around 1:00 p.m.

When Officer Roger Childers approached the vehicle, officials say Surwillo resisted arrest and took a swing at his face. Sgt. Aaron Dunbar of RPD told KPIC News, "He contacted that driver and was immediately assaulted by that driver. She was taken into custody without any further incident," he said. "She was charged with driving under the influence of inhalants, failure to perform the duties of a driver, which is Oregon's hit and run law, and reckless driving."

Neighbors gave police inhalant cans they say Surwillo threw from her vehicle after parking it in a nearby driveway.

Police say Surwillo was huffing at the time of the accident.
