Police find plants, grow gear in 'Weed'ebago
EUGENE, Ore. - Police found pot plants and growing equipment in an RV stopped on Interstate 5 north of Eugene on Sunday afternoon.
Oregon State Police cited Benjamin Steffen, 29, of McKinleyville, Calif., to appear in Lane County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession, Distribution and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.
The case started when a trooper stopped Steffen in a 1984 Winnebago motor home with Alaska plates to investigate a possible traffic violation at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The troopers found 39 mature marijuana plants, growing equipment, other evidence and small amounts of marijuana and hashish inside the rig.
Steffen was the only person aboard the RV.
