Second suspect caught in alleged Glide assault case
GLIDE, Ore. -- Both men Sheriff's deputies were looking for Monday for an alleged assault on a Glide man are lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
At about 2:45 p.m., Douglas County Dispatch received a call from a female who stated her 28-year-old husband had been beaten up by two male subjects.
The Sheriff's office says the suspects, who were armed with a knife, allegedly entered the victim's home in the 100 block of Lee Lane, put the male subject into handcuffs, and beat him.
Deputies say the man ended up with a cut lip.
The female was able to get out of the house and obtain help from a passing vehicle on Little River Road.
That's when deputies say the two suspects ran into the wooded area behind the victim's home.
Sheriff's Deputies, OSP Troopers and Officers from the Roseburg Police Department, including the K-9 unit responded.
At around 4:45 p.m., one of the suspects, Charles Endicott, 31, of Glide, was taken into custody by police at the Mt Scott trailer park.
Endicott was lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
Sheriff's deputies say the dispatch center contacted them at around 7:45 p.m., to let htem know that the second suspect, Russell Fennell, 28, was at the post office in Glide. A few minutes later, they took him into custody without incident.
Both men are being charged with attempted kidnapping in the first degree and third degree assault.
