ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Some generous folks in Roseburg spent their day rallying for a cancer cure.

Everyone was dressed in pink and they even used pink tennis balls at the sixth annual Rally for the Cancer Cure.

To wrap up breast cancer awareness month, the volunteers at Douglas County Cancer Services held a tennis clinic to raise funds that will help right here at home. "All the money raised and provided to Douglas County Cancer Services, whether through fundraisers, donations, grants, all the money stays locally and is meant for assistance to cancer patients either recently diagnosed or going through treatment," said Jackie Barnett.

The rally has grown each year, and volunteers are humbled by the genorosity of those who attend. "It's a very generous membership that participates in this event and it's open to the public," said Barnett. "Anyone is welcome to come and join in."

All proceeds raised at Wednesday's event will go back to benefit Douglas County Cancer Services and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Participants had a choice of which group to donate to.
