Residents to start seeing ballots today

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Ballots are in the mail and will be hitting mailboxes today for the May 15 primary election.

County Clerk Patti Hitt reminds voters to make sure you sign only your own ballot. You cannot sign for a spouse or other relative.

She also says that if your ballot doesn't show up, you should call the elections office. "If people have not received their ballots by Wednesday, they should give our office a call," Hitt said. "We've checked with all the post offices this (Friday) morning. they did receive them, and they're putting them in mailboxes as we speak."

You have until 8:00 p.m. on election day to get your ballot in to the elections office.

Drop boxes are located all throughout Douglas County.

If you have any questions about your ballot, you can call the elections office, visit the county website, or look in the back of your voters pamphlet.
