ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg City Councilor has thrown his hat in the ring for Mayor.
With a group of supporters standing behind him, Mike Baker formally announced Tuesday just before noon, that he will be running for Roseburg Mayor in the November election.
Baker has served two terms as City Councilor, but he's hoping to have an opportunity to be a more prominent leader in the community.
Baker has served on several city commissions, including Planning, Public Works and the airport.
Mike says he'll focus on the economy, and spurring local growth. "To me, it's all about the economy: it's all about jobs," Baker said. "It's really time that we start moving forward and start doing some things."
