ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Roseburg High boys tennis squad is having a successful season as a team, and one standout both on the court and in the classroom is junior Sam Stadter.

He is Roseburg's top-ranked singles player and carries a 4.0 GPA.

"The season's gone really well so far," he said. "We're pretty much undefeated, we lost only like 1 or 2 matches. we've done really well."

Eric Ball, the RHS tennis coach, says he was a welcome addition to the team. "He made it to the quarter state last year, so, had a new, tough good player last year," Ball said.

He switched over to playing tennis after competing in swimming for many years.

He'd like to continue his education after high school, maybe to study ophthalmology.
