ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The 12th annual Credit Union for Kids rummage sale this past Saturday was a success again this year, according to organizers.
The one day rummage sale is a yearly fundraiser that helps the Doernbecher Children's Hospital, serving kids from around the region, including Douglas County.
What began 12-years ago as a way to get rid of old furniture has come a very long way. Casey Buller, Vice President of Marketing for Cascade Community Credit Union, says it has become an area staple. "Now, it's an annual thing, people expect it," she said. "They know that September is my rummage sale spot, and they call in June to make sure we have their spot saved."
Buller says they had to create spaces to accommodate the 47 vendors. At $25 a space, she says it was by far their best turnout.
In case you missed it, you can still donate to Doernbecher's by visiting the credit union.
