The trailer had to be unloaded by hand before a tow truck could right the trailer and truck

HALSEY, Ore. - A semi truck and trailer overturned when the rear wheels slid off the icy road shoulder and into a ditch Tuesday morning.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The crash happened at 7:44 a.m. on Highway 228, near Central Linn High School.

As driver Calvin Cowdrey, 56, of Harrisburg drove east with a trailer loaded with grass seed, the rear tires of the trailer crossed the fog line and slid on ice.

The rear of the truck slid into a ditch, causing the trailer and truck to overturn onto its side.

Cowdrey was taken by ambulance to Albany General Hospital with minor injuries.

The trailer had to be unloaded by hand before a tow truck could upright both truck and trailer.
