WINCHESTER, Ore. -- Police are looking for a Hispanic man who they say shot three people in the Winchester area Tuesday night.
Reports from the scene are that a man shot three people, two of whom died at the scene.
Police say the shooter is still on the loose.
According to Douglas County Sheriff's Lt. Curt Strickland, authorities were dispatched to a reported shooting just after 9:30 pm in the 5700 block of NE Stephens.
Two people were deceased at the scene and one other was injured. The injured person was transported to Mercy Medical Center.
There is no word yet on the extent of that persons injuries, and none of the shooting victims identities are being released.
The suspect is described by police as a Hispanic male in his 40's, last seen wearing a black hoodie.
Police combed the area around Hwy 99, Page Road and Pioneer Way, and as far down NE Stephens as Hooker Road.
Police brought in K-9 dogs to assist in the search.
Strickland says they don't believe the suspect is still in the area.
NE Stephens was closed in both directions through the area from the Winchester Dam to the 5200 block, but authorities started allowing residents back into the area shortly before 1:00 am.
The Sheriff's office says local schools in that area, including UCC, should operate as normal Wednesday morning.
