TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore. – A 20-year-old man was arrested Friday after State Police said he offered a $360 bribe to a trooper to tear up what turned out to be a $260 ticket.

Police said a trooper caught Austen Corno, of Milwaukie, passing illegally on Highway 101 Friday afternoon while on patrol in Tillamook County.

After the trooper wrote the ticket and returned to Corno’s car, Corno flashed a wad of cash and offered the trooper $360 to tear the ticket up, police said.

The ticket for passing in a no passing zone was for $260.
