SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- Sutherlin is gearing up for it's biggest festival of the year this weekend.
The 24th annual Blackberry Festival is just around the corner.
While there's a lot to do this weekend, Duane Waller was out in the summer sun on Wednesday, getting things ready for the event.
Waller was out preparing the mud volleyball courts, and was also fitting metal bleachers with shade.
Waller says his favorite part of the weekend-long event, is the thing he started. "I started the mud races in 1996, and I've been doing them every year since," he said. "That would have to be my favorite, my personal favorite."
The festival kicks off this Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
