ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says a tree that fell is causing a hazard in the North Umpqua River.

The Sheriff's office says the tree hazard restricts boat traffic.

The tree has fallen into the river about 1/4 mile upstream from Hestness Landing.

There is a small channel still available on the right side of the river heading downstream.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol is assisting the Oregon State Marine Board in determining the best course of action for the removal of the tree.

The Sheriff's Office advises any person using the river in that location to please use caution.
